26-Year-Old Darrel Rodriguez Fatally Shot at Seventh Avenue Subway Station: Was Inadequate Security to Blame?

MANHATTAN, Ny.— A 26-year-old Bronx resident, Darrel Rodriguez, was fatally shot at a subway station in Midtown Manhattan, New York, according to police. More than two days after the incident, authorities were still searching for the person responsible.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh Avenue station near West 53rd Street. Investigators said an argument between two men began on the northbound E train platform, continued aboard a train, and then moved back onto the platform.

Police reported that a man wearing a face covering shot Rodriguez in the chest. He died from his injuries.

Rodriguez worked as a security guard at a Manhattan office building and was reportedly on his way home to the Bronx when he was killed. His family and community are mourning his death as police continue searching for the shooter.

Pedro Rodriguez Alzurutt Shot Outside Buford Highway Lounge: Was Inadequate Security to Blame?

CHAMBLEE, Ga.— Pedro Rodriguez Alzurutt was taken to the hospital after being shot outside Nollywood lounge on Buford Highway early Monday, October 19, according to Chamblee police.

Police responded to 4646 Buford Highway shortly before 3 a.m. and identified Ivan De La Rosa Mena as a suspect. He was also found injured and transported to a separate hospital for treatment.

A security officer told investigators that Mena had been escorted out of the lounge because he appeared heavily intoxicated. She later heard several gunshots and found both men injured outside.

Authorities have not confirmed who fired the gun or what led to the confrontation and the investigation remains ongoing.
