Fatal Shooting at Vine City Food Mart Raises Negligent Security and Premises Liability Questions

ATLANTA, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting at a food mart in Vine City that left a 35-year-old man dead Tuesday night.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded just before 9 p.m. to a report of a person shot at a store located at 901 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard NW. Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment but later died as a result of his injuries.

On Wednesday, investigators released surveillance images of two individuals believed to be connected to the shooting and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip online, or texting CSGA. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Man Shot Outside Brookhaven Kroger on Peachtree Road; Investigation Ongoing, No Suspect Identified

ATLANTA, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a man was shot Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Kroger store in Brookhaven.

Brookhaven police responded just before 10 a.m. to reports of a person shot at the grocery store located in the 3800 block of Peachtree Road NE. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

First responders provided immediate aid at the scene before the victim, who was reportedly still breathing when help arrived, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officials indicated the victim appeared to be approximately 50 years old. No information has been released regarding a suspect, and authorities have not said what led to the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Shooting at Arts Center MARTA Station Injures One; Suspect in Custody – Transit Safety Concerns Raised.

ATLANTA, Ga. — Commuters in Midtown Atlanta experienced major disruptions Tuesday morning after a shooting occurred at the Arts Center MARTA station, leaving one man wounded and triggering a law enforcement response.

MARTA police arrived at the station at approximately 7:17 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon reaching the scene, officers found a 50-year-old Hispanic man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities confirmed that one suspect was taken into custody. Details about the circumstances leading to the shooting had not been released at the time.

The incident caused delays across MARTA’s rail system during the morning rush. Service at the Lindbergh, Arts Center, and Midtown stations was temporarily suspended while police secured the area and conducted their investigation. To help passengers reach their destinations, MARTA implemented a bus bridge connecting the affected stations.

During the disruption, MARTA also offered riders an $8 credit through its MartaConnect program for Uber and Lyft rides to alleviate travel challenges.

Rail service eventually resumed at the Arts Center station, and MARTA thanked passengers for their patience during the incident.

Officials had not determined whether the shooting was targeted or random. Authorities encouraged anyone with information to contact MARTA Police as the investigation continued.
